Before the big push to the Holidays I usually get caught up on the Frugal side of life. You might want to do the same. Here are a few of my favorites.

The Tightwad Gazette

Dining on a Dime Cook Book

America's Cheapest Family

Your Money or Your Life

ThrityFun.com

The Simple Dollar.com

The Dollar Strecher.com

TTTThen, I usually do what I should be doing and become thankful.

So Your Kids are Psychic!

Most everyone who is reading this has psychic children.

Just a few reminders for us parents:

Psychic children are very sensitive to other peoples emotions (especially Love, Joy, Fear, and Disgust). They often mimic back what adults feel.

Psychic children are gifted so that we grow to become better teachers.

Psychic children need reassurance so that they know they are very much loved. This is because they see to the other side both positive and negative energy.

Psychic children do not fit into the molds we did because of their soul type. They are often very artistic so allow this and balance it out with sports not the other way around.

Psychic children are here to teach us how to love more fully.

Love Always,
Kara

Getting Caught in an Emotional Cycle

There are people within my life that I have learned, over the years, that I just need to keep quiet and go along with them, or they throw a "fit". When I was younger I would try to explain my views but they wouldn't want to hear them. Or, I would just not say anything and become upset that they didn't see the world the same way I did.

Now, I simply let them speak, keep quiet and make a joke about something (anything) and try to let their emotional baggage be their own. I make a conscious effort not to let their "stuff" become mine... which isn't always easy. But, I have learned that we each have our own approach to life and "how things should be."

If you have people that are catching you in their emotional cycle learn to block out their emotions, their words, and their energy and replace it with a gentle appreciation of their soul. This will save you many sleepless nights, stomach pains, and headaches, etc.

We are not all alike but we are all loved by God. The sooner we realize this for ourselves the sooner we can see it in others.

And that my dears works for me! For other great ideas that work visit We are THAT Family!

Washing Windows and Clearing Out!

It's that time again kids! Time to clean, clear, and get feeling good.

So today I've been washing our windows. Washing windows helps you see the world more clearly physically and in a spiritual sense. In addition, it allows others to see you more clearly which is wonderful. Less static in our lives the better!

It is also time to get rid of that which no longer serves you. We've been donating box after box of stuff that doesn't fit the kiddos and stuff that we no longer want or need in our home. If you find yourselves doing this enjoy it. To me it feels like just coming out of the shower: feeling clean and healthy.

Have fun and clean away!

Kara

Two Great Gifts

There are a few (well really, only two) gift-y products that "cost," but are worth the price--in my mind.

First is the Wii:

The Wii is a great family gaming system for ALL ages. Games are easy to use and often more than one player can play at a time. I wish we would have skipped all the plug-in-play games and hand held games and just gone to the Wii when we were starting out. So, if you are considering a gaming system even for little kids or for older adults this is where it's at! IMO.

Second is the
Kindle.

For the Readers on your list:

Who wouldn't want to get all the great spiritual books quickly and carry all of them at once in this great little device!

Both the Wii and the Kindle are spendy up front but over time they are frugal, in that the whole family can get so many, many hours of enjoyment from them. In the end they both are frugal to me :)

What are some of the great gifts you've given or gotten that do cost a lot?

Kara

For Those of you Separated, Divorced, or Married

This has been an extreme year concerning relationships. Many have come to an end, while others have truly bloomed.

For those of you who are separated or divorced from your spouse keep focusing on how to be the healthiest person you can be; physically, mentally, and spiritually. This will bring out love and healing for yourself, your children, and to all those around you (yes, all).

We can't always stay married but we can continue to better ourselves and the world. Let those around, including your children, you see this and do the same.

For those of you who are "staying married" love your life. Appreciate your circumstances and start moving toward more joy, more laughter, and more understanding of yourself and your spouse. "It is a gift to receive love, but it is also a gift to be able to give love."

As we all become increasingly aware of ourselves and our roles in the world, we grow more compassionate to other people's weaknesses. Supporting and lifting each other higher is much of what this life is about.

Elle shared this prayer with me this morning.

"May God bless your hearts. May he be kind and compassionate toward the "all- of-you". May you see the beauty of your own soul. May you see the abounding gifts of lessons you provide one another. May the Lord bless your relationships to grow stronger. May you each grow wiser to the life you have been given and the commitments you have made to your higher calling. Amen."

Thank you, Elle.

Staying Healthy this Winter Season Part II

It seems that many of you are looking for more information on staying healthy so here are some more "suggestions" from the angels about this Winter and your health.

Keep a healthy plant in every bedroom. The plant will keep you company and the air filtered naturally.

Don't have your nails done. I don't understand this completely, but having fake or even polished nails doesn't allow for toxins to leave the body the way they naturally would. So forget the nail polish and appointments and be young again :)

Take high quality vitamins and supplements. We use a daily vitamin, an immune support supplement, and colostrum during Winter months. This year we started taking these in October.

Eat organic or self-preserved foods. I canned A LOT this year and that's what we will be eating. If you don't have your own self-preserved foods go for organic foods.

Go to your chiropractor and massage therapist often. These treatments not only detox the body, they get the body moving, feeling, and reacting quickly and succinctly.

Drink green teas or hot cocoa to comfort and slow you down. When you do this you are slowing down and eliminating stress.

Wash your bed linens weekly.

Watch fun, happy movies and TV or read and tell of funny stories.... Have Fun!

As for those of you who have divorced (or are going through a divorce/separation) this year there are messages coming for you soon~

Kara

Staying Healthy this Winter Season

Colds, flu, H1N1, on, and on! Well, the angels have a few suggestions that we have been following that I'd love to share.

Wash your hands often. I have the kids do this as soon as they get home from school and any time we are out and about with other people. Keep a bottle of hand sanitizer in the car for quick clean ups.

Take showers this Winter instead of baths. Before this year I had always had the kids share bath water since it is "frugal" but also because it is good for the earth. This winter is an exception. We are to all shower. Do this at night if possible since you would have a whole night's rest in your own sheets and in your own "germs."

Change your tooth brushes often. Every time you get sick you should change your tooth brush or bleach it well. I got in on a great deal through Overstock.com about a month ago for a gross (144) toothbrushes for $10.99. They aren't anything fancy but they will get us through this season and into next Winter easily.

Add essential oils to what you can. I added "thieves" oil to our foam hand soap dispenser. This is a dispenser that has long since run out, but I keep adding 5 squirts of Daisy Blue Natural's Laundry Soap, 10 drops of "Thieves Oil", and water to it. Then we're set for another week :)

You could also place cotton balls with 2-3 drops of lavender, tea tree, or a citrus essential oil in each of your rooms.

Lastly, place a "homegrown" (or organic) onion near your beds. I did this after receiving an email about the earlier flu where people stayed healthy due to onions in their rooms. I couldn't hurt and the angels didn't think it was silly.

Foods! Eat lots and lots of onions and garlic this winter along with yogurt or kefir. Ginger, cinnamon and cyan pepper are great spices to be using! Every day you should make these foods part of your diet.

Exercise and laugh.

Drink water with lemon juice in it.

These are just a few of the healthy ideas so far. As more come my way I'll share. Take care this week. Pray and stay calm.

Kara

Fall Sales All Around!

Make sure that you are taking advantage of all the different Fall sales around you.

Produce from local farmers, rummage sales, and the start of Holiday sales are all discounted right now so that they can get rid of waste and we can pick and choose what we would like. Make deals or trade if you can. Maybe offer outgrown clothes for apples. Or trade your skills for their outgrown clothes. The idea is to be aware of what you want/need and what you have to offer.

Fall is a great time to get rid of that which doesn't serve you. Think about having a "Free" Rummage Sale where your customers could donate to your favorite charity if they like. Be creative in giving and in saving.

Have Fun Saving, go with friends and see who can spot the best deals.

Be creative!

What have you done this fall to save money/save the earth? Do Share :)

Remember to check out Amazon, Gotta Deal and use Ebates or Fatwallet
